The most interesting part of today’s Microsoft Event in New York was the presentation of Windows 10 Mobile and the display dock. The dream of transforming a smartphone into a desktop PC isn’t new, but with the Display Dock and Microsoft’s new phones (Lumia 550, 950 & 950 XL) could be getting closer. This little dock plugs into the new Lumia phones with a USB Type-C cable, providing ports for HDMI, DisplayPort, and three full USB ports. On a monitor, the experience scales up to what looks like a Windows 10 desktop. And in the near future there will be a lot of apps for the Microsoft Universal Windows Platform #UWP.
Will this the new way to work with IT? We think that this technology have a lot of potential. Particular for “Bring Your Own Device” #BYOD Enterprise IT-Strategies as well in the private environment.
